One of our favorite things to do, before we had children, is to go out to dinner and take a walk afterward.
Downtown Tampa with the improvements to Riverwalk is perfect for this combination. There are many dining choices Downtown and it is hard to beat a walk along the water. Downtown Tampa is really shaping up to be a destination and if you haven’t been in a while, I am certain that a walk through the area will leave you with a discovery of something worth a return visit.
Davis Islands is another choice for dinner and a walk as there are varying cuisine choices in the Downtown area of the island then you can walk along the channel all the way to the yacht club if you like. Just decide what kind of food interests you and how long of a walk you can handle.
Ybor City is definitely worth a visit. There a a bunch of great restaurants and bars to choose from after dinner you can browse the shops or take in a movie or a show. Walk up and down 7th and if you have the energy check out 8th as well.
Hyde park and Howard Ave restaurants are very popular and both of these locations are only a few blocks from Bayshore. If you are bored with walking on Bayshore, take a meandering route through the surrounding neighborhood and check out the beautifully restored homes.
Palma Ceia is a another venue that is often overlooked for a after dinner walk. Most of the restaurants in the area are on Macdill and it is never more than a couple of blocks from Bayshore Linear Park. Palma Ceia is an architecturally interesting neighborhood stroll.
