You have several good choices for waterfront dining here in South Tampa. One would assume that a city that is located on the water, such as Tampa is, would feature more waterfront eateries. Hopefully, the future will bring more of these places to Tampa, because I think that we could use it. Downtown has the highest concentration of on the water grub. Although, all of these places are technically on the water. Some of them are more water view than waterfront. My top places are Jackson's, Ulele, and Columbia Cafe. Just up the Hillsborough River from Downtown is Rick's on the River, which is a super casual place that all Tampanians should know about, but it's not really in South Tampa. Hula Bay and Taste of Boston at Ballast Point are the only real South Tampa waterfront restaurants. You can also drive across the Gandy Bridge and check out IC Sharks or The Getaway.
